Privacy policy

Last updated November 2, 2026

Colibri Mail is a Mac email client made by Magatti Ventures Inc. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app and colibrimail.app.

Your mailbox

When you connect Gmail, you authorize Colibri to read, compose, send and organize your email using the gmail.modify permission. This includes messages, sender and recipient details, labels, drafts and attachments. Colibri uses this access to display and search your mail, keep an offline copy, send messages you request, and sync changes such as archiving, marking read and moving mail to Trash.

Colibri connects directly from your Mac to your email provider. Your synced mailbox is stored locally on your Mac. Magatti Ventures does not keep a copy of your mailbox on its servers or relay your mail through them. Your email provider continues to hold your mailbox under its own policies.

Credentials and local storage

Google handles sign-in; Colibri does not receive your Google password. Refresh tokens are stored in the macOS Keychain. The local mailbox database does not have separate database encryption. Its protection depends on your Mac's account permissions and disk encryption settings, such as FileVault.

Agents you connect

You can choose to connect an external agent to Colibri. The agent can receive mail information through the permissions you grant, including message content and attachments when requested. If your agent uses a hosted AI service, that information can leave your Mac and be processed by that service. Magatti Ventures does not operate an inference proxy for this connection.

Connect only agents you trust, review their permissions and the provider's privacy and retention settings, and revoke the connection when you no longer want it to have access. Revoking a connection stops further access; it does not delete information the external service has already received.

Google user data and Limited Use

We use Google user data to provide the mail features you authorize. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine learning models. Magatti Ventures staff do not access your connected mailbox. If you choose to share an email or screenshot with support, we use what you send to handle your request.

Colibri's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Website, beta requests and support

If you request beta access, we store the email address you enter and use it to arrange access and contact you about your request. If you contact support, we receive your message and any information you choose to include. Please do not send your mailbox database, passwords or access tokens.

Our hosting and email delivery providers process the information needed to deliver the website and these messages, including network details such as IP addresses and request logs. The app also contacts update services to check for releases. Release notifications do not include your mail content. These service requests are separate from your locally stored mailbox.

Retention, removal and revocation

Your local synced mail remains on your Mac while the account is connected. Removing an account in Colibri deletes its refresh token and removes its synced mail from the active local database. This does not delete your mailbox at Google, files you saved separately, or copies in your own backups.

You can also revoke Colibri's Google access in your Google Account connections. Revocation stops future access; remove the account in Colibri to remove its local synced mail.

We retain beta requests and support correspondence while needed to provide access and resolve your requests. Contact us to request deletion of information you have sent us. Information shared with an external agent or AI provider is subject to that provider's retention and deletion controls.

For privacy questions or deletion requests, email [email protected]. We will update this page and its date when these practices change.
